Alanis Morissette

Alanis Morissette, a Canadian, was born June 1 1974 in Ottawa. Alanis' Greek name is an feminine form of her father's last name, Alan. There are two brothers: Chad (Alanis Twin) and Wade. When she was just 6 She learned to play the piano. After that, she was 21 and her first guitar lesson, she was a musician. Alanis made a hit single in 1986, titled Fate Stay With Me (b-side : Find The Right Man). The singer recorded two albums while dance-pop vocalists throughout Canada: Alanis (1991) and Now Is The Time (1992). She relocated to Toronto at the age of 18 and began working with music and writers, but the collaborations didn't work. She finally met her partner in 1994: Glen Ballard. He had previously worked with artists including Aretha, Michael Jackson, and Barbra. She moved to LA at the age of 19 years old. Madonna released "Jagged Little Pill" as a single on June 13, 1995. Alanis has discovered an extremely personal, autobiographical technique for writing songs. JLP is the 3rd most-sold album in history and has sold more than thirty million times across the world.
